NAP Food Drive for Crystal Lake Food Pantry

You might be familiar with food drives around thanksgiving time. This seems to be the most popular time to give to the local food pantries. Hunger is an issue even in the summer time and its a time that the pantry's shelves can get pretty bare. NAP has decided to run a food drive for the Crystal Lake food pantry from now until the end of July with 3 fun ways to help out your community.

Purchase one of our new NAP T-shirts and proceeds will go to the Crystal Lake food pantry. Let us know the size and style (have your had a great NAP lately? or porcupine) of shirt you'd like and we will place the t-shirt order at the end of July.

Not interested in a t-shirt? You can make a donation anyway. We will have a jar in the office where you can put donations.

Bring in food items. These are the top 20 items the food pantry needs right now.

Cereal
Coffee/Tea
Spaghetti Sauce
Juice
Dry Pasta
Canned Vegetables
Canned Fruits
Toothpaste
Tuna
Kleenex/Paper Towels
Chili/Stew
Large Size Diapers
Pancake Mix/Syrup
Canned Beans
Jello/Pudding
Tomato Products(paste, sauce, diced)
Evaporated Milk
Side Dishes (pasta, potato, rice)
Oil
Laundry Soap

It is our goal to raise $250 but we can't do it alone!

Festival of Sleep: A Good Excuse for $10 treatments

Have you ever heard of the Festival of Sleep? Its officially on Jan 3rd and although we are fairly certain its a made up holiday it sounded like a great excuse to catch up on sleep. We know the holidays can be a bit stressful with all the shopping, cooking, and merry making. It can be exhausting to have this much fun (or spend this much time with family). That's why we decided that NAP will be celebrating the the Festival of Sleep Jan 2nd - Jan 7th with $10 treatments!

Schedule your regular acupuncture appointments for any time between Jan 2 - Jan 7 and let us know you are celebrating with a NAP and your treatment is just $10. (Special is only valid if you let us know you heard about it) Come in as often as you like Jan 2nd- Jan 7th $10 treatments are valid and unlimited the whole week but the party is over after that. Schedule your appointments today and don't forget to bring your friends and family!

Happy New Year!

Neighborhood Acupuncture Place Welcomes New Acupuncturist!

NAP is excited to welcome Margeurite Vandenbrouke, our newest acupuncturist.

Marguerite graduated from the Southwest Acupuncture College in Albuquerque, NM with a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine.  Her experience as a Massage Therapy student introduced her personally to the wonderful world of acupuncture and herbs.  Marguerite clearly remembers the day in 2003 when she exclaimed, “I have to learn this medicine and help others the way I have been helped”!

Marguerite has many wonderful childhood memories of spending time with family at Crystal Lake.  She is thrilled to return and join Sarah as your neighborhood acupuncturist!

Schedule appointments with Marguerite on Thursdays between 10a-2p & 4p-6p and Fridays 10a-2p.

Our new fall hours are:

Mondays: 2-6:30p
Tuesdays 9-1p
Wednesdays 2-6:30p
Thursdays 10-2p & 4-6p
Fridays 10-2p
Saturdays 9-1p

May Day Recap

On Sunday May 1st the Neighborhood Acupuncture Place participated in the 9th annual May Day Free Acupuncture celebration with community acupuncture clinics across the country, Canada and Israel

We had 33 patients come in for an acupuncture treatment of all ages and backgrounds. A few kids received treatment and others rested in parents' laps during their treatment. It was a great time and if you missed out this year it will of course be happening next May Day or you can always stop in for a treatment pretty much any day of the week. (look for an updated schedule coming soon with more evening hours!)

Lauren Anderson of the Northwest Herald came out to take pictures and there will be an article next month highlighting complimentary and alternative medical practices so make sure to look for it!

More photos taken during the event are up on the NAP fan page on facebook as well.

Thanks for everyone coming in and making it such a wonderful day!

Visit here for more information on the benefits of chrysanthemum tea.

Chrysanthemum tea aids in keeping people alert and as a tonic for improved energy.
